Cklasse or anyone with a dub for that matter. On my bubble block 16v I used to have an external oil cooler. You know it sandwiched between the oil filter and you had a couple of hoses (in and out) that attached to a cooler that you mounted up front.

Can this be done on an mb with the element style filter? I havent searched if they have a kit for the early vr6 as i think they used this type of filter as well.

Ok yeah, I want to look like i have a fmic.

Hmmmm... how about an oil cooler from the merc turbo diesel? Another cheap solution would be the oil filter cooler. It looks like a finned clamp on your filter cap.

Or a crazier idea would be to weld fins onto your oil pan. :D

On the turbo project, I was going to put an old oil cooler from a Mustang from the line out of the turbo to the oil pan.

But no, I wouldn't know any bolt on application.

Nokia,

I talked to few guys here, and apparently, it is very easy to install oil cooler for the I6, V6, or I4. In fact, someone is bringing by a tranny oil cooler over and see if it will fit somewhere in the engine bay. I ll let you know right away if we figure it out.

PS... Most of the techs here said, you will need Tranny oil cooler much more than engine oil cooler :)

Yeah I figured the next cooler would be for the tranny.

Cars getting old and need to help fight the age with some external cooling.

Let me know how you guys plan on doing the oil cooler.

I think perhaps they mounted the oil cooler to the under side of a rear wing?
