has anyone swapped out their stock cat converters with high flow ones? did it give you any noticeable gains and was it worth it? would a high flow cat change the exhaust note?

Of course. CAT - #1 restriction.

Note the very bottom picture... the middle is high-flow cats, the far right is your gigantic stock cats. Pay attention to the angle - OEM cats only utilizes 70% of the catacombs. They also have 4 times the amount of catacombs as the high flow cats.

The above system from CKlasse with high flow cats is on my 1999 C43. It is a definate improvement over the stock system. CKlasse's dyno tests show an 18 to 22 hp gain over stock. I've not yet dyno'd my car but have noticed an immediate huge improvement in acceleartion at all speeds above 3,000 rpm and an incredible improvement in acceleration from 80 mph to 120 mph ... (I've not yet gone faster than 140 mph in my car).

After three weeks on my car the system sounds incredible. It makes a deep pleasant roar with acceleration and nothing offensive. Not a stock sound, but the BMS exhuast will make your V8 sound like the powerful V8 it is.

Great value for the buck. Next step -- a supercharger!

CKlasse: How you doing on building a supercharger for the C43? I can barely wait.

What kind of highflow cat do you have on your C43 guys?
How much did it cost?

Here in Vancouver, there is a anti-pollution program called "AIR CARE" which measure your emissions and if failed, will not let you insure your car.

Will this High-Flow cat make the emissions worse than stock?

THanks guys.

RYHI, Krazie,

The high flow cats we use are CARB approved. They are as good if not better as far as burn out the HC & Nox. They are designed to work and to flow better.

These cats are made by Catalyst Inc according to our specs. Email me at kennetong@aol.com if you need more infos :)

Cklasse,

Are there emission sensors in those catz?

I have a 99 C230K and I thought all OBD11 Cars had to have some sort of emission sensors built into the catz?
