catalytic converter removes poisonous gases from a car's exhaust system. . The converter changes these to harmless carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and water.
U need one to pass emissions it is illegal not to have one.

Depends on the year of vehicle and how much you are willing to spend. Most likely, it will cost more to put single!
