Does anyone here use Shell Rotella motor oil in their w202?

right now im using regular conventional shell motor oil in my 202. i was wondering if i can put shell rotella oil in my 1995 c280 gasoline engine. is it harmful? do mercedes engines like diesel oil better? is the diesel oil thicker than regular motor oil? i live in ny where winter is cold, is it ok to use rotella 15w40 or is it too thick in cold weather? also i have a small oil leak, would synthetic rotella t6 make the leak worse since its synthetic? also would the rotella 15w40 oil cause my leak to disappear since diesel oil is thicker than dyno oil? also does diesel oil have more zddp which is good for the engine? thanks in advance

I only used mobil 1 0w40 in my 95 C280.

if you have an oil leak already, yes synthetic will leak a little more because the molecules are smaller. depending on how cold it gets in the winter, I might or might not use a 15w. where i live it rarely freezes in winter but gets pretty hot in summer, so always 0w40.

Rotella was an excellent diesel oil here in SA. Used it in w123 240D. I think a 15w 40 would be ok considering conventional oil you are using now is probably a 20w50. I use Shell helix HX7 on my 230K. 265000 km and still going strong.
