C180 aftermarket Central Lock

We have a 1995 C180 and are very happy with it. the previous owner has added an aftermarket central lock/remote that works from a great distance. The unit is mounted below the radio and it looks like a little black box with a flexi antenna and many wires coming out, mostly not connected. the only problem is that the car relocks itself after about 30 seconds unless I turn on the ignition and unlock the doors with the indash button. I have only one key and I am sure I will lock the key in the car soon!
Can I disable the self lock?

you'll need to find a model number on that box and then hopefully find a manual to go with it online, then you may be able to change the options.
