Gasket sealant - to use or not to use, this is the question

Hi guys, i'm getting ready for a valve cover gasket replacement on my 1995 C280 (6 cyl inline). If you've done this, have you used gasket sealant and do you suggest using some?
I know the WIS does not ask for any, and I've seen few videos and posts for C280 where it's a simple replacement, just need to make sure the groove is clean.
On other hand I've seen sealant being used on both sides of the gasket on V6 engine.

So, what do you suggest, to use or not.

Yes you need to apply a very small amount where the upper timing cover bolts be the cylinder head, there is a line that will need sealer because the rubber gasket won't seal it. Also a good idea on the corners of the rubber half - moon pieces.
