Question C55 Engine swap into C200

Hey guys I'm from Aus, and i have a few questions for my 1997 (built in Oct, 1996) C200 Wagon Classic model. its got 266,000Kmh on the clock, right now the engine runs smoothly, but around December/January when i get my license it'll probably be on its last legs. So i was wondering if i could chuck a C55, C43 or C36 AMG in there, not too fussed about power mainly just would like a newer engine.

if you think 266,000 kms is enough to kill that engine, I've got news for you. It's not even close. If even half-properly maintained it will last at least another 300,000 kms. At LEAST.

Also, to elaborate on what dearlove has said. Anything is possible. You would be spending probably $15,000 in parts and modifications to swap a true w202 AMG motor into a non-AMG car like that. If you had a 95-97 C280 you could swap to a C36 engine pretty easily, but all other cars/options are ridiculously expensive. the engine and ECU are extremely dependent upon each other, as well as the transmission and TCU and all the car's systems. it's possible but unbelievably expensive and difficult. you could just buy a C43 for much, much less
    94 C280, 250k miles, 1999-2011 (gone, never forgotten)
    CURRENT:
    744 Silver 99 C43 AMG, 260k miles, 2011-
    040 Black 98 C43 AMG, 190k miles, 2013-

i wouldn't even consider shoehoning an amg engine in a non amg car, too much of work and money to invest in this non amg car.
start looking for a decent amg and you will be happy, much easier for you.

Agree with what others have said. Buy a 36 or 43 and be done with it.
Cheaper than a time and money consuming conversion. With a 43 you can also install a 55 later.

Ok thank you for your advice, much appreciated, sorry for the really late reply xD. Dearlove i could only find 2 C36's, 2 C55's and C43 after looking on car sales. but will look on other places. Yeah i've been told by a few people these engines are hard to kill, I recently installed a new speaker system. I'll post it up on the weekend. Again thank you for your advice

Yea, 266000km is still very new, I'm running a 94, w202 C220 and she is on 428 000. I do admit though, I do milk her, and no hassles at all. I was considering roughly the same thing with an engine swop, but it worked out too expensive, and not worth it at all...
