    Spring Pad Sizing

So I am in the process of ordering my suspension setup already ordered eibach springs and yellow koni shocks. The last part I need to buy is the spring pads. I went out today to see which pads are currently in the car, and the back and fronts are both the "3 dot" or level 3 pads. I want my wheel gap to match and currently my front wheel gap is much larger than my back. This could be because springs were replaced, though I doubt that, and the other ones settled more. I'm thinking of going level 1 "5mm" in the fronts and keep the 3 but order new ones in the back. Anyone have any opinion on this? Is my thinking/judgement correct? Anything is appreciated, thanks guys!

With that setup do you have any rear wheel gap? And is there any rubbing in the front?

I would highly recommend you install the new springs and shocks with just using the original spring pads you currently have and see where it sits. There are many variants that can change ride heights between your car and someone else's with what appears to be the same setup. Wheel widths (leverage from suspension pivot changes), shock gas charge differences, vehicle weight options, suspension bushing conditions- are a few examples of these variances.

Once installed and test drive a few days, you will be able to then easily measure what needs to go where.

Keep in mind that when you measure wheel gap, a spring pad change will be twice the distance the pad thickness is since the pad/spring sit at about 50% leverage point from pivot to wheel centerline. ( in other words, a 7mm change in pad height can mean more like a 14mm change in actual ride height.)

I drive a 2000 C230. I am looking for the 210 321 02 84 9 mm for the fronts. When I google the part number, the websites that come up say that it does not fit my vehicle. Says that part # fits 96-99 E300's.

They are correct. They are the proper helix type spring pad to mesh with the later style helix W202 springs.

So I got the suspension job done. Unfortunately the 210 325 03 84 13 mm rear spring pad and the 210 321 02 84 9 mm front spring pads would not fit over the springs (Eibach Pro Kit) so I'm guessing that's an incorrect part #. Was only $40 extra so no big deal. Here is a "before" (few years back) and after of the wheel gaps. After looking under the car (friend mechanic) he showed me that I am going to need new control arms and ball joints. Anyone know of a good (cheaper) place to start looking? Thanks.

Can you share what part number Eibach kit you used? Reason being is the spring pad reference #'s I posted are archives from both this site AND Pelican Parts forums. If this info is wrong I would like to correct it. Any help with parts problems and non compatibility would be helpful for future member reference. Thank you, Dean

    Eibach Pro-Kit Lowering Springs

    Eibach Springs Pro Kit

    2000 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

    (C230K, without S/Lev, chassis W202)

    Part #: 2545.140

Wasn't thrilled that they didn't fit as my front wheel gap is 2 finger and my back wheel gap is 1. Ride height way better but when you spend upwards of $1k you want the height how you want it. I'd love some opinions.

2545-140 are designed for: C230 K, C240, C280, C250 D & C250 TD. All of these versions have different curb weights and curb weight will vary again depending on what options are fitted. So, to get the perfect ride height you'll more than likely need to change the spring pads.
