C230K Sport - Springs Or Shocks Responsible For Sag?
I have a 1999 C230K Sport which is sagging at the rear with no extra load in the trunk besides the standard items (100Ah battery + full-size spare wheel). Vehicle has 230,000km.
I assume the sag is from worn out springs as I bought the car second-hand, fitted with a tow-bar. Please assist me with the following:
- What is the stock ride height of this model? I am NOT looking to lower the vehicle, as I prefer stock height
- Does my assumption regarding springs sound sane?
- Would replacing shocks alone restore proper ride height? I'm a bit worried about changing shocks alone, only to find that weak springs destroy the shocks in a short time
Any other tips will be appreciated.
