    chome to monochromatic

What exactly does chrome to monochromatic mean? I know this is about painting over chrome and i have a lot of questions about this. I just called the dealership about gettin sport strips around my car so i dont have chrome surroundings but this costs almost 1000 dollars. If someone can please help me figuring out what to do, to have all my chrome on my car to black (color matching the car).

I see that you just join the forum and you are a newbie.
First of all, it is better to continue with your old thread instead of having new subject.

Monochromatic is a term used by Mercedes. The term means the chrome part on your car is body color matched.

You "could" paint over the chrome, but the paint will not stick very well to chrome material. This will make your paint start flaking soon. The right way to do it -> de-chrome and then paint.
You better off going to a good body shop doing it.

The sport model come with body color moulding. MB change the every chrome piece to plastic -> hence the paint stick nicely. Those mouldings/panels are NOT cheap.
