#'s or marks on spring pads?

I'm looking at the spring pad right now. I notice 2 nubs that look like letter V's on the spring side of the spring pads. Are these V's the indicators(I see two V's or nubs so I'm thinking this is a # 2 pad) or is there something else I should be seeing?

You can see the pad by the part number printed on it

or by the number of little "dots" on it.

4 little dots (or bumps) is for a #4, etc
