    :)Sneek preview of my header:)...

heres a few pics of the progress!
note the tightness of the rear exhaust port, this is mostly due to the steering box being in the way,but also because there is a 3" tube making its way down also!!!....
overall im quit happy with the outcome, though they had to bring the turbo futher forward than i first intended.

    ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN THIS!...

    The positive kind hopefully

    (okay okay, bad joke...i know)
If you can thread the needle... and if your drive can lead to Pole Position today, history may hold a place for you tomorrow.

    I like goooooooooooold....Heh

yeeeesh she's tight, there was very little i could do unless i converted to left hand drive!!

will know the pressure when we hit the rollers,am expecting around 8-9 gauge psi and would like to at least make 250 at the engine intially without ECU changes...it maybe wishfull thinking...i hope not though

with optimal performance from a naturally aspirated engine, you can get more than 100 hp/litre, so I bet you'll be doing a lot better than you think. just get a good tune on it, and make maps for both summer and winter temperature. otherwise half the year you'll be wasting gas or running lean, plus, losing out on your power potential. my friend's spec-c sti, modded to hell, on a bad tune is only at 275. the local subie specialist estimated a 65-75 hp gain on a good tune. just don't make it go pop. these motors can't be very cheap to replace

speaking of which,my typeR did over 100hp per Litre!,it had ~132KW at the wheels on the 1800cc!

Anyhow i'd like to remain on the stock ecu for now,so will only raise boost till we hit trouble...will check ratios on a hot and cold day to be sure the pressure setting will be fine...in the long run it will be stand alone as you say there is great gains to be made there!!

my old seo had about 135 chp on the 1.5L. there was more i could do to it, but with the results of the mods i had already done, i figured i wouldn't bother. [/offtopic]

That looks like artwork. Do the guys that fabbed it for you understand the temps it will be exposed to? I assume they do, but I always hear about cracked turbo manifolds when they are custom fabbed (even commercial ones like the Greddy Civic turbo kit manifolds).

Also, what is the next step for your project?

    thanks,
theres definatly an art to making headers!!!..im gonna go as far as say'n i find this stuff almost sexy lol...must be the curves

yeh temps will be high...to help combat cracking we will most likely cut the flange between the ports to help...
if i does crack we'll modify to suit...

the rest of the exhaust and the wastegate will be underway today...once complete the parts will be in for ceramic coating and wrapping....so i hope they dont crack lol

This is how the turbo manifold from my old Mosselman kit came. I was going to suugest doing that but I couldnt think of the word "flange" so I let it go thinking that once I remembered the word, I would come back and suggest cutting it lol....

I would do the ceramic coating but not the wrapping. although it contains the heat, it puts more stress on the manifold, and might cause it to crack. i've heard quite a few stories about D series honda custom manifolds breaking when wrapped.

    just my impression.

your quit right...iv heard similar claims...containing more heat will put added stress on the manifold...at a benifit though!
I'll be in contact with HPC coatings and a few race suppliers to see the outcome of doing both before i proceed...
