    Carbon Fiber Blinking mirrors

has anyone bought these from this guy on ebay,

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33649

i think the would look good with my other carbon fiber parts

are there factory units that just plug an play no need for re wireing, how difficult are they to install?

It looks interesting because that is not the shape of the original mirrors. Maybe the W210 mirrors.....
If you already have W210 blinking mirrors, it might be just plug and play. But if you do not have blinking mirrors at the moment, you would need to wire it up.

With close inspection, can you tell that these "covers" are just that, covers?

I got lucky and bought a set of W210 prepainted for $100.

I dunno if I would pay $180 US for covers. You'll have to run the wires through the door and the firewall and tap them to your existing blinkers or tap through the fuse box or the column. Took me about 5-6 hours to do it. Had to splice each wire and soder and match them up as well as run the blinking wires etc. End result is an OEM part looking OEM.

Is this just a carbon fiber sticker stuck on or is it made of real carbon fiber?

As to wiring.....in the auctions it states

'Only remove the cover part, the original mirror and wires stay.'

    then it says...

'Includes 2 blinking mirror covers, wires.'

    and finally...

'Wiring job is recommended done by professional. '

    **update...

Reread the auction....'Carbon Fiber finish, no need to paint.' So it's a sticker and not the real thing...says CF finish.
