Hi all,

I was driving uphill 2 days ago, and my CEL went on. I left it for 2 days since it does not affect the drivability at all ( no power loss or any other weird symptom). The car is 97 C280 Sport with 144K miles BTW.

I finally went to Autozone today and pulled 2 codes (P0422= Main Catalyst Below threshold and P1772= Manufacturer Transmission Control).

I got P0422 last year, and then I changed the cat converters to some nameless brand. The nameless brand lasted a year, and I pulled the same code again 1 month ago. Under Krusty's suggestion from MBWORLD.ORG, I changed my cats to Magnaflow Universal which he said works very well on his C36. It worked very well, until I got the code again 2 days ago.

I guess my questions are did you guys ever change your cats? if you did what brand works the best (besides MB OEM of course)?

And also, what kind of code is P1772?? I searched the forums and couldn't find anything on it. It really worries me that it has something to do with the tranny.

Please help me guys. Sorry for the lengthy post.
