    Front door speaker size?

I'm about to buy a set of new speakers, and need to know about fitment.

I know the front door speakers are 6-1/2" (6.5"). But I need to know how deep that area.

The speakers I have planned to buy are 76mm.

Please let me know if the speaker hole is deep enough.

    Thanks,
    Cheers.

The front door is not a true 6.5" (the bolt holes won't line up perfectly with a std 6.5) so you will have to run an adapter plate. Not a big deal, and the plate itself provides enough spacing to run even a bigass woofer. I've had a/d/s 346 and now DLS UR6 in mine, which are some of the deeper ones on the market.

    wow, DLS.

please let me know if there were fitment issues. or if you know, if these R6A will fit.

    thanks so much!

Here is how i made my 6.5" speakers fit.
I just drilled 4 holes and jammed some screws in there. Worked awsome.

    Ray -

Does your adapter plate allow you to still use the factory speaker grille/cover? Where did you buy your adapter, please?

    Thanks,

Yes, everything still ends up looking factory. You can also drill the plate like Markland556 but it really depends on the basket design of the woofer you are using. In some cases, the design will not allow it to seal if you are not using the adapter ring. I am using a modified version of an off-the-shelf adapter ring.
