Side Skirt removal

OK I bought LED puddle lights for the skirts.

Anyone have a guide on removing the side skirts?

they appear to be on really tight, not sure which way to push/pull/yank/hit

hope u have some advise!

there are fastiners on the bottem on the skirts screws in the fender wells

if i remember correctly, the are 4 or five clips on the underside(the black, squarish pieces) the maybe a screw on either end in the fenderwells and a litter of clips on the side. i would go to your benz delear parts department and have them print out a picture of it(say that your interested in some clips haha) and cheat off of that.

otherwise, how are you planning on wiring them in? i was planning on doing them also and wiring them to the dome lights so that they only turn on when i unlock the doors.

yea thats how i plan on wiring them, just tapping them into the dome light...which i still need to work out where it is...anyone know where to find the dome wire power and ground?

coming soon, i have not managed to find the screws and im going to need to have a whole day to do this i think...im gonna need to get the removal diagram from the dealership i think...might save a headache....

OK ive removed all the clips/screws/plugs on the 'underside' of the side skirt only - it is still connected to the car on the sides of the sideskirt

2 questions;

1. The little Black filler pieces above the sideskirts at either end just near the wheel wheels where the skirts meet the body - how do these come off? the area of skirt just below the black filler pieces feels like there is a clip behind it, do i just yank the skirt away from the car?

2. do i yank the whole sideskirt directly away from the car to do the final removal? as there is obviously clips on the inside of the skirt also but unsure which way to pull

any advise would be sweeeet!

URGENT!!

I have the side skirts off and would really appreciate if someone could tell me where the dome light + and ground wires are up near the driver's footwell's. I need to tap into these.

Appreciate your quick replies so i can get this done tomo and post pics.

P.S ebay Crystal Clear headlights with ebay HID blind the hell outta ppl!! I took em off already! specially in RHD car!

don't the lights have a dimmer switch located on the left hand side of the dash?

those aren't wire colors/locations that any car audio installer programs I have give normally.

you could also try the fuse box- it should be fairly easy to partially remove and properly tap into one of the wires right behind it. Or you could use a fuse tap and cheat right from the front.

dont think i have a dimmer switch for my interior lights...

i will have a look at the fuse box thanks.

if there is any other suggestions that would be tops so i have a few things to try tomorrow!

I have taken the skirts off, ordered some new clips that i need to be able to re-attach them tho so still waiting on that

I have tapped into the rear dome light wires and that appears to be working so far for the puddles....

will post pics when skirts are back on and all sorted. bit of a mission doing this, spent about 5 hours messing with it all today and thats just for 1 side! takes time working it out as you go along, other side should be much quicker!
