    MAF/Shifting

    What role does a MAF play, if any, in the shifting process of a 722.4 trannie?

    If the MAF were failing could it cause delayed shifting or flaring?

    Car idles fine however.

    1994 128k on the clock and I'd guess original MAF.

    Fully agree that faulty MAF can cause really weird shift patterns or prevent normal shift. You can by a new MAF at Autohaus (but in any case insist on Bosch only replacement):
