    Straight pipe'n the C230K

    Anyone got any input?

I have the magnaflow 14833. Deep tone, love it. What are the affects of removing the resonator? Horrid ricer sound? Louder? Deeper?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated

Just curious. How would the 14833 sound with a 230 N/A? Also did you install it yourself/how much did it cost?

You will get that ricer sound... I'm looking at a magnaflow highflow resonator atm. I like it at certain times but others its too hondaish, its deep but there's those rice moments

No problem man, I found one on Amazon. Just type in magnaflow resonator and a 2.5 inch or 2.25 inch one comes up or I can paste the link when I get home lol I ordered the 2.25 inch today

It makes the supercharger whine louder though, I dont mind that when you go through an area with a lot of buildings :-)

A straight pipe is a very bad idea. You wont get much more in the way of power and it will be obnoxious. Not mercedes like at all. If you want more go then the next step is a tune and more boost. An intake wouldn't hurt as well.
    Completely mad.
'99 C230K, intake and exhaust more on the way.
'86 MKIV Escort RS Turbo, stock for now, chip and more boost on the way
'75 Fiat 124 Spider, koni shocks, bigger carb and drilled/slotted brakes
to tune and hoon the mbz master race.

Hey Yujin! I just recently removed my cats for a test pipe, effectively making my exhaust 2.5" straight pipe from the headers all the way to the Lorinser muffler. Check it out and I will be posting more rolling vids soon, the car sounds extremely different when the engine is under load, but it is definitely a good different

you are in ca and stated that you have removed your cats. How do you expect to pass smog ?

I had flanges welded on both the exhaust tubing and the cats and the test pipe. Check out my picture thread and you will see that when smog comes, I can simply remove the test pipe in place of the cats in order to pass smog. I don't throw a CEL either way though, I ordered an 02 spacer so the car won't throw a code.

I use a 90 degree 02 sensor adapter for my rear sesnsor. Im straight pipe but with no muffler or resonator i have only magnaflow 46003 high flow CA legal cats in place. I figured you had a removable test pipe Just wasnt sure if you had kept the cats or not.

Oh nice setup! It doesn't throw a CEL at all does it? Keeping the cats is a must for smog time, but I have to say that the test pipe has been one of the most enjoyable mods I've ever done to my car hands down.. the car feels a lot more livelier and sounds completely quiet until I get on it.
