do you mean like large as wide or thick?
what is the largest size tire for 18's you can fit on a stock 98 C280 Sport....with #1 pads, without lowering the car that is NOT going to look stupid?
Also..what is a camber kit worth for it if I do lower with Eibachs? Is it totally necessary?

Oh come on. Yhe width of the tire in metric sizing has evrything to do with the sidewall height. It is the aspect ratio in relation to the width. Ex. 265/35ZR18 265 is the width in millimeters 35 is the ratio of the sidewall to the width (in this case 35%) and of course 18 is the rim size
yea its all plus sizing, thats why what he wants it wont work

1. 18x8.5 with 235/40/18 front + 18x9.5 with 265/35/18 rear
OR
2. 18x8 with 225/40/18 front + 18x9 with 255/35/18 rear.
I would not recommend anything bigger than as the overall wheel diameter (rims + tires) would be signifcant compare to your original ones.

Ive been looking into getting new wheels n tires. Ive called numerous companys. They keep claimin too me how I can't fit a 18/8.5 in the front. Ive been searching for months now for a nice pair of wheels. The Enkei PK6 wheels are one of the choices.
I def. need some help on wtf too do cause im not getting anywhere talking over the phone with these people.
Silver 99c230k
*supersprint header(in process)
*Remus full sound turbo cat-back exhaust(custom)
*K+N performance filter
*Avantgard grill
8.5 is about as wide as you can go on the front
with an offset of 35 mm and a 225 tire in the front you should be fine

That's BS because I have 18x8.5 with 225/40/18 tires. Lowered on H&R Sports. Rubs on the plastic only at Full lock to lock with passengers. Rears don't rub.Originally posted by REMUS

FYI,
I fitted 18x8.5 ET 35 with 235/40/18 + 18x9.5 with 265/35/18 on my C36 and has zero rubbing..
(Check on my gallery "the one with Brabus MB IV")
For All W202 "AMG" the front and rear "fender lips" are rolled from the factory.
For W202 "non-AMG" only has the rear "fender lips) are rolled.
That explain why yours rubbing Jack.

boominbenz has a non amg also, it could be due to the diffrent styles of the sidewall of tire brand

Yes very true. I have Continental ContiSport Contact. They have a rounded shoulder. Alot of tires have squared shoulders which are more likely to rub.Originally posted by jnolte
