If you are looking for quality then go get the oem one. But let me warn you that it may cost a heart attack. But if you're not too picky then go for for Bekkers or Schatz. And welcome to W202!!

They are the same to me. In the first pic, you have the grille insert with the chrome strips. What you would do is remove the current one in your grille and then it would look like Rincewind's.

Like JRE said, if you want the best quality buy the OEM grille. It will be the entire assembly. It does cost alot though.

Here's a pic of my bekker's grille insert in the OEM grille frame:

What is the difference between a stock grill, s600 style and the avantgarde. I can't tell the difference.

One more thing. the plastic on the stock grill is kind of grayish, and a friend of mine is having his body kit put on his black 300E, should i get the insert part painted black(not the chrome strips just the plastic)? I think it would look better. or paint it white to match the car? i don't know if that would be too much white? what do you think black or white?

BLACK. too much white makes it over kill and look cluttered

The only diffrence is one is just a insert and you keep the frame and the other is the full frame insert replacement in one. They look the same in the end one is just one is better built the OEM one. I would just go with the Insert but i just bought a whole grille lol

It's relatively easy. All you do is unscrew the entire chrome grille, and then take out the insert. Replace it with the new one and remount the grille. Not too difficult. Make sure you dont scratch the insert when you are trying to put it in the frame.

Should only take 30 mins or so, depending on how hard of a time the insert gives you.

If you get the entire grille, only take you 10 minutes. You dont have to take out the insert.

For the money, it's probably best to get an insert and replace the stock one. If you have the money to spend, get the OEM full grille with insert (like the S600).
