    hvmercy,

were the pads you chosen came stock with the car? or you bought them new when you took stock springs out?

as I said, your drop is just what I wanted. subtle drop to eliminate SUV look but to keep ride quality.

I guess your car is pre 98. having ugly black lower sides just like mine

I'll use your car as benchmarking on how low I want to go.
I'll be on stock shocks for now. they're still ok and I don't know what I'm gonna do with them if I changed them. so I"ll just finish them and get bilstein sport in the future. hope they hold at least 2 yrs down the road.

Yep, the pads came like that when I bought the car new.
I used the stock shocks for a little over a year before
    I changed them to KYBs.
I can't really tell the difference between the stock shock
and KYBs when I'm all alone in the car. I have to do some
spirited driving in order to get the benefit of the KYB shocks.
But then again, I'm a mellow guy

Yes, it's a 97 and the black undersides also bother me
a lot but I have more pressing issues to deal with besides
the cosmetic looks. I've been concentrating my efforts on my
    S2000 and Odyssey.

    I just measured the gaps.

front: 2.5" and more (there must be tallest pad possible to have gap like this.)
    rear: 2.0"

You have to consider the arch of the front vs. the rear.
That is the reason the front have bigger gap.

    didn't think of that.

from the measurement alone, I'll have about 0.7" of gap left. so no rubbing at the fender

no I have to worry about the rim width. I'm trying to pick C coupe rims next week. it's 8.5" wide. so I'm little worried the fitment inside the rims. even with stock rims (guess it's 6.5" or so) I have not much room inside to play with. Outside, I have plenty of space left.

well, I'll have to try them on and see.
