as an alternative, Pioneer sells a flip-out screen that has dvd/mp3/cd-r/satnav features. that's what i'm planning on installing.

if you have a pda, forget about the trafficpro. I use Tom Tom on my pocketpc, and it's got color maps, waypoints, the whole nine yards. PLUS, I can take it with me wherever I go and drop it in my other car if I want. The bluetooth receiver and software cost me less than $200 combined with a cradle.

I was leary at first then I installed it and started playing with it - it's as good as anything you'll be able to put into a car and muuuch better than a trafficpro. It's the full-on, straight up Tom Tom application, except it runs on your pda or phone. If you put it on a phone, you can even dial points of interest from the nav software.

yeah I don't understand why people are buying the devices when you can get a great phone or pda with much more functionality, plus the software and gps device for the same price - or even less.

This is the package that I bought:

$189 for TomTom Navigator 5 USA + Holux GPSlim236 Bluetooth GPS (SiRF III) for Pocket PC, Palm, Treo(FREE Arkon Mount)

http://www.buygpsnow.com/tomtom-navigator-5-usa-with-holux-gpslim236-bluetooth-gps-sirf-iii-v-3-1-1-waas-for-pocket-pc-palm-treo-650-free-arkon-vent-mount-471.html

This includes the GPS reciever that you can put in your pocket and walk around with, and a car/home power charger for the GPS receiver as well.
