help! -need to change leather boot

Hi

Bought used '95 C220. My first Benz. Drives like a dream but I need to change the boot of the gear stick which is worn and torn.
How do I get it / the surround to come off to replace it ?

Thanks for any help, I couldnt find specifics in the other threads.

Hi David,welcome to the club!..

first lift the window switch console straight up,it is easily lifted from around the front area of the console,then disconnect the wiring,look under the boot then undo the plastic nut,then pull the nob straight up to remove,you can then pop the boot off the switch console...
the boot seems to be a fairly pricey item for what it is.
