The driver's door window on my W202 (C220CDi 1999) stopped working. All other windows O.K. (including the front passenger one). When my Merc specialist checked it out, he found that the front passenger window didn't work as well. Control unit replaced with new. Still no joy. Old unit re-fitted. Both windows worked! After 2 days driver door window stopped working again. after a few more days, the other window stopped working. Any ideas? Thanks.
10th August. After some more investigation, I have found that if I disconnect the smallest plug from the control boxes (both doors) and re-connect it, the windows work again for a few days. The connections seem to be fully tight, so the mystery deepens! I don't have a wiring diagram for this part of the electrics, so I don't know what the wires to the plug feed/connect to.

i have the same problem with my passenger front. the 2nd plug down seems to get loose although it may seem tight. i think it has something to do with the horrible roads i drive down in downtown LA. when it happens i just pop the clips n disconnect then reconnect the 2nd wiring harness down on the control unit. if someone has a fix for this i would like to know as well.

I had this with my 202 but with all four windows. would disconect and reconnect the plugs to the regulators and they would work for a day or two.

How i fixed this problem was to remove the window motor (three torques screws) take the back off the motor (4 torques screws) be careful when removing the windings as the electronics run down the side of them. Where the carbon brushes pick up on the copper collor rub up eith a bit of wire wall, and put them back together.

This worked for mine well over four months now and not a single problem, (touch wood)
