MY 1994 mercedes benz c220 owner's manual says high or low beam bulb replacements are H1 or H1L, but OSRAM sylvania and xtralights.com are insisting they are 9003/H4...

So my question is any othere owners buy an HID conversion kit that can tell me whats up?

I think your Low Beams should be H7's and High Beams H1's.

Check this thread out if you want to change your bulbs.

For HID conversion... go OEM. Bekkers has them for about $1400?

yea That just shows how much the company knows about Mercedes, if they are stupid enough to insist that your have 9006's even though your the owner of the car and KNOW you have H7's, then just dnt buy from them - that is exactly the service you will get!

The early 202's (1994-1996), at least here in the states, use an H4.

Thanks guys :) I really appreciate it...

Just wondering why the manual says H1...but since everyone expect the manual says H4, and my minivan has H4...I went ahead and ordered the hi/lo H4s...we'll see what happens :-D.

Anyone have any experience with visionbulbs.com ?

yes for a HID bulb to work you must have an HID kit, includes ballasts and such

lol...

To each his own...

But I just purchased a Hi/Lo kit from visionbulbs for 275 shipped using a discount code I got from a friend.

They have the latest technology and are comparable to phillips...they have a 3 year warranty that my friend used in the first 6 months with no problems.

All in all, I can't wait...think I got a stellar deal as everywhere else normal lowbeams are 300+

Sorry, I just got them installed last weekend...Actually cost me 150 bucks for professional installation...I know I got ripped off, but oh well it was worth it.

My other car is an 2005 Acura TSX with bixenon stock d2s that are 4300k, and that beam pattern is definetely better. The cutoff lines and the uniformity is amazing.

That said, the extreme lights 600k d2r bulb kit that I got is both a hi/lo meaning both my low and high beams are xenon

The beam pattern definetely takes a hit when putting them in the original halogen housing but for 450 installed, what do you expect. The 6000k is definetely a bit bluer to the yellow of the 4300k of the TSX. Side to side, the TSX's looks more halogen, I think 6000k is the best compromise between looks and functionality as its 2800 lumens (compared to the 3200 lumens of 4300k)...its comparable to the flash of your digital camera.

The beam pattern is not as scattered as some reviews may lead you to believe. After driving it for 2 nights, the beam seems uniform as hell to me. The only thing I think you miss is the clear cutoff lines. The light goes effing everywhere (but I aimed it low so don't worry), and if you ever want to do what I did I suggest getting a hi/lo kit...little to none cars have hibeam xenons :-).

Anyways, heres some quick pics from my cell as I'm still at college...I'll try to get more pics this weekend when I get home. Oh and a welcome surprise, my foglights (side lights of housing, I guess they're fog light)...still work

One's with the foglight thingy on, and one without...when you turn it on at night the light output is closer to a baseball stadium :-).

I'll post more pics of the actual beam pattern and comparision to the TSX when I get home.

By the way thanks for the help guy, I think you should put somewhere in the FAQs that the 1994 w202 manual is wrong...and the bulb size is actually H4 hi/lo...

I'll get more pictures, I apologize for being so selfish and getting help and not contributing :bored: :o :bandit:
