Took a long drive from LA to OC last night and had the windows down on the freeway for awhile. I noticed an intermittent "chirp" coming from both sides of the car. I say that because I could hear the sound bouncing off the guardrail or a car on my right side. Sound stops when I push on the brake, does not always occur when running normally. The sound is not the constant brake sensor sound of a worn pad. Not 'screeeeee'; 'chirp-chirp-chirp-chirp-chirp'
This leads me to believe that my recently purchased C280 may have been in a front end accident before I got it.
Other possibly related symptoms:
1. The car shimmies when braking from high speeds.
2. The right front wheel well guard is not attached/not attached correctly to the front bottom of the well and I'm getting some tire rub in left turns.
Might this have anything to do with the control arm bushing?
