Hi, I would like to remove the red circled pipe (actually the top part) and I would like to ask, what is it for? Im assuming its for the intercooler so theres nothing but air in, but I first want to make sure that no water or any other liquids are going to flood my engine when I try to remove it. Please tell. :) Here's the pic.

why would you want to remove and integral part of your engine?

i'm not familiar with these engines, however from the looks of it, it looks like an air passage.

see where it goes/comes from, that will help determine it's contents.

Judging by the diameter, the material, and the rubber elbow, i'd like 90% sure it's not liquid, however I'm no euro/german/mb tech here.

hope this helps

Thata the air intake hose from the intercooler to the TB.
Go ahead and take it off. Make sure you twist the rubber parts
to get them loose so they dont rip.

Yeah its the intake tube between the intercooler and throttle body. You dont want to replace it, keep it stock. Its only for air so removing it is no problem. Hope that helps.

yea remove it carefully when your engine is off, because if you remove it while the engine is running (i dnt know why u would) the car will shut off and the CEL will come on (it did that to me) theres nothing but air in their coming from your intercooler. thats all.

Im not going to replace it with an aftermarket part, dont worry, I just need to work under it. Im currently working under the hood, not for tuning reasons though. I will post the results when done. Thanks guys.
