Passenger side mirror is loose - Help?

My W202 98 C230 has a loose passenger mirror itself - the housing is fine and tight - just the mirror moves. I have looked for any inconsistency in the back of the mirror but have not found anything broken or missing. Am I missing a clip or something? I have searched, searched, and searched several websites for this answer - any help will be greatly appreciated.

three possibilites here -
1. there is a spring clip at the top of the mirror on the back holding it to the motor assembly. (if broken, u need a new glass. spring not sold seperatly)
2. there are two clips, one on each side of the mirror that also hold it to the motor assembly. (if broken, u need a new glass. clips not replaceable or fixable)
3. the mirror motor assembly itself could be broken causing the mirror to appear loose.

As it turns out the top white plastic poppet thingy that snaps into the back of mirror glass had disengaged which caused it to flop. Hadd to take the housing off the mirrror to see it.
