I have a 97 C280. Lowered 2" in the front and 1.7" in the rear with the H&R Cup Kit and the fenders have been rolled.

I have been looking to purchase some new wheels for quite some time but I dont know what size to look for. My goal is a staggard fitment with as wide of wheels and tires that i can fit without rubbing.

I am trying to find the perfect wheel for the car even though I know that its nearly impossible.

Ive had:

18x8.5 with a 225/40-18 (offset unknown since I sold them) and they rubbed along the edge of the front fenders when i went over dips or hard corners.

I have 18x8 now with a 225/40-18 35mm offset and they do not rub.

I am looking for something like an 18x8 front and a 18x9 rear or possibly a 19x8 front and 19x9 rear.

I have found wheels that I really like but they only come in 18x8.5 35mm front and a 18x9.5 35mm rear. They also come in 19x8.5 35mm front and 19x9.5 35mm rear.

Does anyone know if these wheels will fit? Has anyone had a 9.5" wheel on their car? Does anyone know how wide i can go before i start to rub with rolled fenders? PLEASE HELP!

When you say you do not want any rubbing, does that mean you want to be able to have 4 full sized adults in the car and still take a U-Turn no problem?

I have 19 * 8.5 38mm up front, 19 * 9.5 38mm in the rear, I am also running 225-35 and 255-30. I am lowered approximately 2.5-2.75" all around and I have SOME rubbing. I think if you went 19 * 8 and 19 * 9 with a 225, 255 combo and stayed at the height you are at now, you should be ok. By the way, here's my car:

to add, I also had OEM SLK55 AMG wheels which were 18 * 8 and 18 * 9 (225 and 245). The only time I ever rubbed with those was in a U-Turn with 4 adults, otherwise it was smooth sailing.

the 18s rubbed in the front so I probably would have been ok with 255s in the rear.

The ones your looking at getting are a 35et? and an 8.5 in the front? - As long as that offset is larger than the old wheels it shouldn't rub. You should try and find the offset of the wheels you had that rubed..
If all fails and they do rub, you can look into machining off however much of your hub so you won't rub.
Nah I mean?

Haha. Good luck homie ;)
