guys,
my shift knob is long worn. and it sucks. i have been looking around for some decent MB knobs and they re around $100 each, which is more than i want to pay, well, for a knob.
any suggestions?
far as i know, only MB knobs would fit our cars, am i correct? if not, is there any other make that i can make do with?
thanks in advance for all imputs.

sorry, typo there... the "f" key on my keyboard is half detached to its connecting pins underneath. so it works sometimes when it feels like it.

What year is your w202? If it's like later than '95 I believe most late style MB knobs will fit. The earlier ones were affixed to the shaft, (you have to replace the shaft and knob together or get a special shaft to affix a late style knob) the later knobs have a collar near the bottom of the knob that you twist to remove the knob separately from the shaft.
I still have my stock leather shit knob from my 2000 c280 sport (with the sport logo) with minimal wear that I can send you for $20 shipped. Let me know if you're interested.

If you don't care about it locking in like Mercedes Benz knobs do just go on Ebay.. and get a Momo one or something? The just fit over the rod, and have 3 little screws that go into it. They look good.. Sometimes the screws loosen so use thread lock when you put it on. - If you put one on.

Came off of my '00 c280 Sport at 55k miles. Leather and emblem in excellent condition. Just incase it's not obvious, I should state that this is for an automatic transmission, not a manual.
Circled in red you can see the slight mark that was made on the collar during removal (it was tight). Anyway, since that piece is molded in black plastic and sits low, you won't really notice it when installed. Also, if you're replacing your worn shift knob, you could re-use that part anyway.
Good deal for $20 shipped. Paypal preferred. I have a verified Paypal sellers account with many successful sales transactions.
Anyone can PM me if interested and have a Paypal account.
