Standalone manegment

For all you people with turbo or supercharged cars, What is you favorite standalone fuel computer? How hard is it to tune? What are some avateges with going with your brand?

From what iv experianced lately...Autronic and Motec are right up there...though autronic is the cheaper option from what iv been told it has just as many features as the motec unit...iv also herd Microtech isnt bad either...its debatible with whoever uses each system of course;)

It is a good idea to go to a few local dyno tuners and ask there opinion...getting a local tuner that is familar with your system will save you untold hours and money...

Myself I was looking at 3 systems the megasquirt, aem ems, and the elctromotive tec3 but I was wondering what other people were running..

Club 202 forums may not turn over alot of info on this subject...you might want to compare specs and cost between these manufactures Vs where you can have them tuned...

just about every volvo guy on turbobricks.com uses Megasquirt.. they sell for about 250, but my buddy says I can find them for under 200! its what I plan to run on my W201.

so far on Turbobricks (in the US) someone made ~300whp and ~350tq with MS and a stock volvo 2.3 16valve engine running I think 15lbs of boost. He ran a mid 13 in the 1\4 with traction problems. the car is a beater too lol.. but givin the fact the SLK55 amg puts down ~300whp and runs roughly 12.7 in the 1\4 gives me chills.

point of the story is... the C230kompressor engine is just about teh same engine and can be just as fast!

i think im going to use microtec.... installed and fully tuned and the comuter is 1800 so its way worth it..

From the quality of cars iv seen running microtech,they must have somthing good going for them...i think the dash display isnt too expensive either!,unlike motec.
