Hey guys, guess what I did? I used a 96-98 Mustang foglights for my 99 C280. A friend of mine has a muffler shop and help me fabricate a bracket for it. I moved my horns to the engine bay to accommodate these foglights.

I got it from eBay:
Foglights:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/96-98-FORD-MUSTANG-GT-FOGLIGHTS-FOG-LIGHTS-LAMPS-97_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33709QQihZ020QQitemZ 300021471931QQrdZ1

Wiring Harness: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=005&item=150003388249&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1

To power these foglights, I had to go to a Car Stereo shop and asked them to wire it in such a way I can control it with my factory switch. It was done in an hour. Using the Wiring Harness, they tapped in to the wiring that controls the OEM Foglights and run a wire to the back where the batteries are. I still don't understand why they can't find power line from the engine bay.

Anyway, It was a clean install and I'm happy. Tell me what you think. . .

Wow ! Great !

Neeeeeeeeeeeed some better Pics !! :D :bunny:

Thanks sharing that with us ! ;)

Do you still use the foglight inside headlights ?

If yes, I presume that's the reason why they run a wire directly to the battery to power a relay activated by your OEM headlight switch.

Even, they could power it wiring it to the 12V Bolt on the right side of the engine Bay, near the Fuse Box.

BTW, have you got some pics of the custom bracket made by your friend ?

Frenchy.

Hi,

Here a quick fotoshop done, just to see the result on my Baby....

I like it...:bunny:

Just click on the pic for a 800x600 vue.

Since my car's color is not dark, i'm thinking about filing each little hole beside the foglights with some plastic pieces painted in 744 silver, so the foglights will seem to fit the entire hole perfectly ;)

Frenchy.

Hi,

I've sent 4 mails to the Bloody sailor of those Mustang Foglights, but he never replys me.

Please, can anyone try to send him a mail ?

Because i can't find such stuff here in Europe, or maybe can someone place a bid for me ?

I've got a Paypal account, and would naturally pay for all, ship & packaging...etc...

Thx,

Frenchy.

I still can't figure out how to insert pictures... Can somebody show me how? for the meantime, here's a clearer picture of my foglights.

Thanks for the Pics Rey ;-)

To insert some pics, just do like this :

http://www.cardomain.com...etc...etc....jpg

And they will appear directly.

Note that i've add a space after the "g" of "img", that's just to show you the form. Actually, there's no space after the "g".

@Slammed_C : You're right, but if you fit those on a 744 silver, then the hole ill be noticable, IMO. ;)

Pleaaaaaaaaaase, can someone place a bid for me, since the seller seems do not want to send stuff in Europe ?...:( :(

Or, i'm gonna take a kit ("Buy it now") and then he must answer me....i will tell him that i've sent him 4 mails and have no answer....

Regards,

Frenchy.

Hi Rey,

Thanks for your reply ;-)

I've found an other Eaby seller that is OK to send me the foglights, just need a "confirmed" Paypal account...mine should be OK, since I have a "Premier account" opened 3 years ago.

I will take you updated, if The seller can't be paid by Paypal, he told me he will refound the money.

I will please you then, if I cannot do the deal with that seller.

He asks me 115$ shipped for the foglights (75$ + 40 $ for Ship.)

Here the link of this seller (Velocity Mustang Performance)

I love the look. And I want them.

What is the opening size in your bumper? Here's hoping the difference between 94 & 99 isn't too big.

Frenchy, I'll try this weekend to take some pictures of the bracket. I spoke to my friend and he said that he welded the brackets where the horns where located before. He's making sure that it won't vibrate and come lose.

i think the 94's have a smaller opening than the 99's. I'm not really sure. The size & shape of the mustang foglights was perfect for my car.

There not bad at all. I still have my stock shocks so it's still has that soft ride. I already replaced my Springs with H&Rs and next week, Bilstein Sports shocks will be installed too. It will be stiffer. I have a 350Z so I'm use to a rough or stiff suspension. I maybe the wrong person to ask. I'm going more for the LOOKS.

Wow !

I definitely Love Black 202 !! Very Nice with those 19" !

No Rubbing ?

Regarding the Bracket, thanks for the explanation.

I presume that he has made a Bracket like a Ring that maintains the Foglight around the Bulb Holder, right ?

Because there are 2 Clips on each side of the Foglight housing, but i can't imagine how to use them for the Bracket.

Or maybe, i Have to fix the Foglights First (with Brackets screwed on Previous Horn holder), and then fit the Bumper Back.

So when I remove the Bumper, both foglights still in Place fixed to their Brackets ;)

Frenchy.

If I remember it was $60 for the foglights, $30-40$ wiring harness, $30 on Silverstar bulbs, $150.00 wiring install & a 6 pack of beer for my friend to install bracket . :)

Of course, you can always do it yourself.

Frenchy,

It's funny. I like the color of your car. I was actually looking for a silver 202 when I found mine. It's a pain to keep my car clean.

My wheels don't rub at all. Well after I had my front wheels shaved to correct the offset.

Foglights:
Lot's trial and error. After you fixed one foglight, the other one will be easy. We didnt have to remove the front bumper when he was fabricating the brackets. oh before I forget, you have to shave some of the bumper openings & clips. Make sure not to cut so much because your car is silver.

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n178/rdsuayan/IMG_0242.jpg

Post some pictures when you're done.

Where did you buy your HIDs?

Hi,

Thanks for the Pic ;)

Yesterday i try to fit quickly a foglight, just to see how it looks :)

And Yes, i see that i'd have to cut a little bit a part of Bumper's clip and opening.

Did you cut the little bracket of the foglight, I mean the little bracket where the setting screw stands.

Regards,

Frenchy ;)

We didn't cut anything on the foglight. Only on the bumper opening.
