i searched around, and am a little confused. hopefully someone here can help clarify the answer....

I have a 99 c280 sport, the m112 v6 engine. I find my temps are range anywhere between 80 while cruising to 100 while sitting idling.

I'd like to get a new thermostat and probably thermoswitch to help keep the temps down, and consistant.

Can I use a new thermostat on my engine? or is it one of the thermostat/housing units that doesn't have a direct replacement with a lower temp thermostat? I swear when i popped off the engine cover i saw just a regular ol' thermostat under there.

What i'd like to do is get the thermostat (79c) and thermoswitch so that I can keep my temps consistant and hovering around the 80* range. Or do I just need the switch?

TIA,
rman

jnenead states in the current classifieds forum that it will not fit the v6 or v8.
