Hers my sistuation.....

I wanna get rims.

I can get 18's 8.5 all round for a decent price brand new with brand new pretty good tyres.

I can get 2nd hand 19s staggered with ok (brand new) tyres for about $100 more.

I have a feeling 18s I'm going to think they are just too small and wish i got 19's.

I dont wanna spend more money to buy new 19's cos it'll cost like 400+ more brand new

Im kind of afraid of the ride quality of 19s and lowered car?

There are gonna be a few small marks on the 2nd hand rims of course, no curb rash, but the usual minor stuff that just happens from driving you know...they are Lorinser LM-1 reps so they have a large polished face that will have some minor marks, spots etc most likely, I have seen photos and they look alright..nothing major at all

I like things to be clean and nice so Im afraid a few marks may bug me...but in the long run, they are bigger rims for a great price....

can anyone offer their opinions just to help my thought process!!!

cheers boys

IMO: 19's are the bomb but im just not a fan of the staggard even though i know that alot of peeps run them. with the staggard tires run out alot quicker cuz your limited on rotating them. *shrug Id still go 19's though. if you go 18 youllbe sayin you want bigger =) just my 2c

All depends on how 'hard' you drive IMO. If you're a nut like me, stay with 17" and make sure you keep the air pressure in the mid 30's. :p I haven't owned a pair of 18" rims I didn't bend. I had my 18" Kinesis stepped lip converted to 17" reverse lip rims recently ... does that count?

well, I think i've decided to go with 18's for three reasons

1. Improved (slightly) ride quality over 19's - Ive had a reallly uncomfortable ride before in my last car...slammmed hatch and I hated it. Wanna try to keep a sense of cushyness in the merc

2. 18's I get will be brand spankers, perfectly fresh and new with better tyres

3. They wont be staggered so I can rotate my tyres more easily and get longer out of them.

oh yea and

4. 18s still look amazing as proven by a lot of ppl's cars on here!

Yeeha! Thanks for all your input guys! really appreciate it!

well, i would have gone for a nice set of authentic AMG 17" if i got a C180. u will have a comfortable ride, wide tires, decent acceleration, light weight, and the impeccable look of AMG all in one package. they come in 17" x 8.5", u know.

Yeah dont do neither 18s or 19s, you will definitely regret it IMO, you wont have any power at all when it comes to overtaking or uphill roads... 17" x 8.5J will do just fine if you ask me.

i see your point of view, but dont throw another size into the equation! i finally made my decision! your killin me! haha

its all good....im not fussed about power, acceleration etc.

Hahah! OK then, if thats the case I vote 18s. Mine are 18x8.5 all around, check the Greec merC thread if you want, it might help you to better see if its enough for you.

I have 18" & keep saying those are big enough but noooo.....
I want 19" real bad. However...they have to be light weight 19" rims otherwise I will wait 'til I can afford them.
Heavy rims just suck!:D

Alright,

i need your help again.

Check out the link below. I need to find out if these will fit my 99 c alright. I have seen pictures of these exact wheels on a 04 nissan 200sx (pcd 114.3)

they are 19 x 8.5 front with 235/35/19 and 19 x 9.5 255/35/19 rear.

offset is 35 front, 38 rear.

check it out

buy paul's milanos imo

the offsets and tire width would work, but you would have to roll the front fenders for sure.

I confirm, 5x112. And the offsets our cars can accept according to the manufacturer are 35 (widest) to 42 (narrowest). Im on 35 all around.

MirageHatch you mean 35 rear, 38 front.
