Where exactly is the egr valve?

I have had a CEL for at least a year on my wifes 1998 C230. It runs great. I pulled codes for free at an Autozone and it was P0400. If I am looking at the motor from the front of the car is it in the back right corner buried under some stuff? If thats it what has to be removed to get the pipe to ream it?

The EGR or Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve is for emissions purposes if I'm not mistaken. I'm not certain, but I think that it sits on the left side of your engine, somewhere above the exhaust manifold. At least that's where I think mine is on the 280's.
