Hey Guys,

It's been ages since I last posted here. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a few ideas on some places to check for wheels/ wheel and tire packages. I'm looking for some 18 inch, AMG five star splits with the studs around the lip. I'd like to get them with a wheel and tire package if possible. Anyone know any wholesale or cheap vendors on the web? I have been looking on ebay but not enough people are selling them to give me an idea of who has them priced the lowest. Replica's would be ok too as long as they look close enough. Any info is much appreciated. Thanks

Yesssir! How's it going nenad? I've been working too much! It looks like ebay has the best deals going on. I just have to find a good place for tires now. Thanks for the links though. I'll have to go back and check out all the thongs I missed over the last year! I'll post up some pictures when I get them on...

Oh yeah, what tires should I run with 18x8's so I can have enough tire and no rub? Will the 8's be ok without spacers? I think there are 7.5's on there now (whatever the stock sport 16's are)...

Mr Gatsbury ... I would call them instead of odering on line. One example is when I bought Evolution II OEMs. Their webprice of the wheel was $ 398 a piece, I called and inquire about fitment etc..... and the guy ended selling it to me for
$1000. shipped . So i would give a shot , play as if you are just inquring and what not and ask diplomatically if they have any more room to to offer any type of discount

I was thinking of these. Seems like a no-brainer but I could be wrong. Check the link. I'm trying to figure out the tire thing though. Right now I have the P205 55 R16 and these are 18x8. I think the stock wheels are 7.5. Which one describes the width? Would I then get P205 45 R16's? I'm trying to figure this out.

i'd go 225 all around if they're not staggered so you can rotate them. 225 rubber still fits an 8" wide rim.

I'm not sure what you mean though. You mean 225 50 R18's. I'm not sure what all the numbers mean. I know the last is the wheel size but that is about it...

width / heigh of the tire itself / diameter of the rim is going onto

for example:

235 / 35 / 19

235mm wide, 35mm thick (rim to the very top of the tire) 19 inch rims

the "r" "z" and "h" etc are the speed ratings the tire is safe to travel up to as well.

for example, a z rated tire is recommended if you regularly travel over 100mph. some guys prefer a Z rated tire even if they dont because it has a much stiffer side wall and allows for better cornering (even if it may have a harsher ride as a result of it)

hope that helps!

ok, thanks for the link. So it looks like I should go with 225 40 18's. I'm not sure what that would look like though. Will it look like a really low profile tire? I kind of wanted to keep a sidewall similar to what I have now but I guess that would throw off the odometer. What do you guys run with your 18's?

This is a 225 40 18, with a Yokohama AVS ES100 tire. Every tire manufacturer gets as close to the 225 40 measurements as possible but they do differ. i.e. a 225 40 measurement from Yokohama will look different than a Goodyear 225 40. The overall tire diameter is what affects the odometer but I myself haven't really checked to see how much bigger or smaller(but, usually bigger) they are than stock.

How about these? These are some nice brabus replicas with some lip

I am thinking of getting those in the future. Can any one tell me if those 8.5 Fronts and 9.5Rears are too wide?

So I was all set to buy these 18x5 AMG twin spoke replicas. I call and the guy tells me that they have a 30mm offset and they won't fit on the front. Then he tells me they are on back order for 2 months. My tires need replacing bad so I may just say screw the wheels and just get tires. The wheels were only $129 a piece, with the Kuhmo's I picked it came to less than $1,000. Sh*t now I don't know what the hell to do.... HELP!

Tire rack has the wheels but i guess there OEM so they are like 4 somehting a piece and there only 17's....

Ok, last question. Will 18x8's with 225 40 18 tires and a 35mm offset fit with not problem and no adjustments needed? Someone told me jumping out on the width and going with a different offset might not work so well.

The problem is, I can't seem to find what the stock offset is for the whells I have now which are the stock 16" sport wheels. What I really need some advice on is will 18 x 8" / 35mm fit and look normal without spacers or anything else? I'm just learning about all of this and I don't want to bolt these on and then find out they stick in or out too much. Thanks guys, imput is much appreciated...
