the trunk-open lever thing came out in my 1998 c230, I lifted it up to open up the trunk and the whole thing just poped off, anyone know how I can stick it back in? I've tried for about a hour to get it to work but no luck.

isnt there some way to just pop that button back in?
yeah I have the same problem, minus the button. looks like you have to buy the entire console piece that is attached to the boot release button, like the panel which connects window switches etc together. I don't know how much these are at the dealer because in Australia I got quoted $700 which is about 500 US?
eBay is the best bet but they don't come around very often. mayb try a wrecker?

There are a few sites that sell for around the 150 range and MORE. Dunno how much dealer charges but i guess it would cost abour 300$

How do you remove the center console?

lift the surrounding by the shifter.... its rectangular. then you take off the cover piece...(CF for mine or Wood for the otehrs) then you look under that peace and on the sides(the console) you will see a tab.. ( its slides to lock and unlock) and then you can take that part out... kinda bad description on how to open..
