How much will a OEM C36 or C43 cost? Will the C36 and C43 work on a 1997? The reason I am asking this is because i really want to buy 714guy's Frabus Bumpers but I don't like what i read about fiberglass. Anyone here bought just a bumper or maybe rears too? I would go for the C36 because I plan on painting the side moldings (no side skirts for me..)

I have a Brand New rear C36 Bumper, never painted or installed. I heard it was the last one. :D :D You can always find used ones, but that's like winning the lottery. I've won it quite a few times, the Brabus front, AMG rear, AMG sides, Reiger front and rear molded already. :D :D :D :D

FYI most of the reproduction Hot Rods are all fiberglass, Yes those $100K Hot rods. Its all in the prep. I don't know if you ever watch "Rides", but Chip Foose uses mostly Fiberglass to make all of his bodykits.

I really do want a Brabus front but I'm a little shaky about the Fiberglass...

Almost all body kits (including WALD) are fiberglass, but if fitted and painted correctly, they will look very very good. Yes they are prone to destruction instead of flexing if you scrape your car, but you shouldn't be scraping your car anyway. =)

Will the fiberglass handle little parking accidents? Like someone backing into it... or when parking facing a curb.. not parallel parking?

714guy please let me know if you still have the bumpers for sale. I still might be interested.

If you're interested, I have a C36 front bumper from my 1995 C36 parts car for sale. It's in great shape with fresh black paint. I'm asking $400. Let me know if you want some pics.

I'm not really sure. If I had to guess probably about $100? If you're serious send me an email or PM with your zip and I'll try to figure it out.

Does the bumper look right to you guys? It seems like they molded the top part of the bumper in with the bumper cover. I thought that the bumper should be seperate from the bumper cover. Anyone help?

the bumper is one piece, and for all you know they could have just taken the picture from an oem euro c36 front and put it on their site but yea thats what it looks like

Depending on the quality, fiberglass should have "some" amount of flex to it, though it will never be as resiliant to damage as polyurethane.

But it goes back to my original disclaimer that you shouldn't be hitting things anyway. =) =)

It's true, some drivers and some areas with bad road conditions just shouldn't have fiberglass body kits, lowered cars, and/or low profile wheels that are easily curbed. So I guess you have to figure out if you fit under that category.
