C43 rim question

My wheels are solid silver. No polish or machined lip. The rears are sort of squared off at the lip and it looks like someone painted the polished lip due to the seam following the crease. On the fronts, the lip is sort of rounded over. Its not square like the rears. Are all fronts rounded over like this? Are some machined square?

the tire place just replaced my tires and did a lot of damage to the rims. They need to be refinished. Im thinking that I should get the lips polished instead of repainted. I would rather have the fronts be square but I dont know if they can machine them flat like the rears or if they should just polish the front lip and leave it rounded over

Go back and show the tire place what they did first off. Thats gonna cost you probably 400-600 to re-finish those wheels.

The lip is different in the rear because it's a wider wheel. The barrel section of the rim is wider = bigger lip.

na, its only about $125 to refinish them.

Transwheel actually shows two wheels came factory on my car. One had a rounded lip like my front and one a squared off machined lip.
65160 and 65161 in the catalog.

I wonder if I have one style on the front and one on the rear but someone painted over my machined lip on the rear. Transwheel will polish the lip for $155 which is the same price as refinishing the wheel but they will not machine it square.


Hmmmm. Some one post up a pic of a polished lip factory front wheel so can see if it is round or squared

The difference between the two lips is due to the offset and the difference in wheel widths.

My 18x8 and 18x9 are similar.
