need help with alpine headunit

i just recently installed the alpine 9856 headunit. The radio works fine and sounds great. but when i try to play a cd or my ipod, no sound comes out. The time on the headunit plays, but there is just no sound coming out. i did a search but didnt find anything. Also after i connected my new headunit, when i drive i hear a high pitch whine coming from the back. the faster i go the louder it is. do you know what that is? and how do i fix it. thanks

Make sure you are using the 12v out line (it's either the pink or orange wire on the alpine) from the head unit and not the automatic antenna output power line. I had to call Crutchfield myself on this matter when I installed my 9857 and found out that the power signal to the bose amp comes off the antenna power cable.

the power ant is the blue line. i hooked that straight up with the samecolor. if i wasnt suppose to do this then where does it go to give the amp power? thanks

correction:

the remote turn-on is the blue/white wire, i just read the manual for mine. you won't use the solid blue power antenna signal wire, the blue/white will connect in its place.

i just called the tech line too. they said to just switch the solid blue with the white. i just did and it works great. thanks!
