Hi, I have new problem with the fuel gauge. I had a quarter of gas left when I refueled. When I turned on the engine, the gauge now showed empty (but the empty light is still off). I turned the engine off/on, now the gauge showed I have 1/2 tank(still wrong). Now the gauge always show empty doesnt matter how many time I turn the engine on/off
This happened once before, but when I turned the engine on/off, the gauge came back to the right level.. So anybody know what wrong with my car? how to find out what wrong? and what need to be fix? Thank you in advance

Chances are that it is the fuel level sensor in the tank. A common problem on W202's. The only solution is to get it replaced.

I just read through the manual, there are 2 fuel sensors..... it will be a pain in the b**t to replace both of them, especially from stealer ship. I wish they sell these in Pepboy....

Sounds like a left and right fuel level sensor. Kinda expensive.
