rear aerial problem so to say....

Its not really a problem but has this happened to any1, I hooked up an aftemarket head unit into my 97 c230 and think i hooked up the aerial wire properly but theres times that when I switch from tuner to cd/mp3 mode the aerial doesnt go fully down, it like sticks out bout 3inches or so, and other times it goes fully down, any idea why it does this? Its only sometimes that this happens, not sure why tho

This sounds like a mechanical problem with the antenna mast. These problems are common on all vehicles with electric antennas, regardless of make and model. Even if it only did it after you installed the deck, it could just be a coincidence that it broke right at the time you put the aftermarket deck in.

I have seen this happen before...try putting a little bit of grease on the aerial while it is all the way up...then try to let it go up and down a few time...sometime the shaft get dry and bind...if that doesn't work then the problem is in the motor box...good luck
