so i decided i wanted to get magnaflow exhaust. as i understand most people on this forum with magnaflow have the universal muffler with the tips welded on already. can anyone show me an underbody picture showing me how they installed it and if it was proffesionally installed how much did it cost. also if you have the part number of the muffler that would be great too. the only thing i am worried about is loudness and drone, out of ten if my 1994 c280 is a 3 stock what would you rate it after the muffler. does anyone have any sound clips. thanks

i got mine installed at a muffler shop, it cost me around $100 because they had to do a few inches of custom piping so that it fit in my rear lip, so if u dont need the piping im guessing it would probably be around $40-$50

I used to sell & install Magnaflow & flowmaster(magnaflow outsould 12to1). I believe the ones you all are refering to are the XL series Part #13148 it is 2.225" inlet/dual2" out & 20" overall legenth.
I used to get them for just over $50. You can get them from summitracing.com

do you a exhaust drone while driving? if so what rpm, and is it bearable for long trips?

Not really. At first maybe but I got used to it. I asked a couple of my freinds and they said they like it. As long as you keep the oem resonator, it won't be too loud.

Nice. A bit too loud for me though. I might just end up getting a universal remus sport exhaust. I heard they sounded pretty close to OEM at idle.

You don't have to but I did. I like mine tucked in. I see some that they show off the whole muffler. I don't think it looks good that way.

I think any muffler shop can do it but if you want the one who did mine, you can go to:

Awesome Performance (http://ocautosites.com/awesomeperf)
23061 Antonio Pkwy., Ste. H
Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 92688
tel. 949-858-9898

Ask for Ruben Rauda. He owns the shop and does all the work. He's also the one who installed my foglights. If you want, I can go there with you. Just let me know.

Yeah I may have to take you up on that. I know any shop can do it, I just want it done RIGHT (as far as the cutting of the bumper goes, I have seen some very half-ass jobs) and I think yours came out great...I'll PM you when I get it :)

Here is how my magnaflow exhaust sounds. It's very loud, even for my own taste. I probably will take the muffler out down the road and find a quieter one.

is yours also a c280?

those sound great imo, it doesn't sound like a buzz bomb, and it's actually quite throaty for a i6 / v6

idk, iil check at work tommorow...should i put one of those on my ride?

the C43 on a stock system is just as quiet as the original one you have now. So if you're just going for looks and don't want to change the sound, it's right up your alley.
