View Full Version : Burnt out high mount tail light bulb
Yeah, the subject pretty much says it all. I had to over-explain it to all the (grease)monkeys I met at Autozone, Kragen and Pepboys: We're talking about the third taillight here, the one in the back window.
That little bulb right there is freaky looking and apparently no one carries it. Anyone know where I can get one?

Have you tried the Dealer?
Also, I cannot recall what the bulb looks like, but chain stores often have an application list for replacement bulbs. Did you physically walk in or use the phone to get information about the bulb? Sometimes it is better to do it yourself.
If the chain stores dont carry, then go with my first suggestion.

The freaky bulb is halogen so when you replace it make sure to not touch the bulb with your bare hands. I would also make sure the connections are good. Mine stopped working and after I bought the $20 bulb, discovered the contacts just needed cleaning. Your best bet is the dealer for this bulb.

I have recently changed mine. I am not at home right now but i will post up the $ and # if i remember. Yes they dont carry those at the stores and i've also told the people at those stores that is not what i wanted, they showed me the tail light bulbs not the high mount light. I bought my bulb at the dealer and i think it costed about $15 for the 1 bulb. I will post up later.
Thanks dude! I appreciate it.

I got the bulb for the stealership a little while ago. It cost me 25 bucks!! Anyways, for some reason, it would keep going in and out. Sometimes working, sometimes not working. It seems like the bulb wasnt sitting very snug in the little black bulb holder. Anyways, I removed it from the lamp, tried to push the bulb down, then placed it back into my lamp.
Then when I stepped on my brake pedal, all the clusters and brake lights stopped working. I blew one of my fuses! I found the blown fuse and i replaced it. I started my car and the gauges in the cluster were working again. So then i stepped on the brakes and BAM!, cluster needles drop on me again.. Eventually, I gave up on the 3rd brake light and left it out. No more blown fuses.
Anyone know why that bulb keeps blowing my blue fuse?
