Anyone know where to find an intake for a 2000 C230 Kompressor. Even being pointed in the right direction to make my own would be nice.

Ya, i know what your tlaken bout. If you go on ebay or w/e it always says non-k. I mean i custom made mine and i love it. But you have to remember the S/C whine is loud and teh bypass can be heard, so if you dont like that, then dont do a CAI, if you can deal with it or like it, by all means.

do you have any pictures or anything that might help me in my quest. I already knew it was gonna be a custom intake. I hop to hear the sc whine and the blow off.

Running into a small issue here. Car ran great last night and half way to work this morning. Now it's not doing so hot. the car doesn't seem to want to keep running. I can't hear the blow off anymore. Got any ideas?

check all the hoses, the MAS, and I would probably disconnect the battery, wait 30 min, and reconnect it.

all hoses are connected, MAS is connected. Blow off is connected. Makes me wonder if the MAS went bad

Hm...
Where to buy those beautiful and shiny pipes?
I'd like to change it instead of plastic black ones, nothing more, it looks really awesome.

let the car get cold, you'll probably have to troubleshoot tomorrow morning. take the filter off the bypass valve, and start the car, to see that the "warm up" cycle allows the valve to open/close as you give it throttle from under the hood. that's the best way to troubleshoot the bypass valve, because it uses the supercharger full time for the first 60 seconds to warm the cats up for emissions as well as test the o2 sensors.

another thing you will want to check is the IC piping. if any of that has disconnected, you will have zero boost.

lastly, you may need to relocate the MAF to a horizontal position, instead of vertical coming of the IC. any time you increase the amount of air flowing through, it makes it more prone to turbulence, and doesn't correctly balance air to fuel ratios due to the false readings. you'll especially notice the performance hole between 2500-3500rpms, where 80% of your day to day driving is done.

what are the symptoms of a bad MAS?!?

splutering/hesitating on acceleration
lack of over all performance
less fuel economy
probably screws up timing & A/F ratios and such.
As I understand it the computer will just be getting a whack signal and do weird and wonderfull things..

now that i look back and read that, it sounds simple; check all of your vaccuum lines. something could have very easily disconnected while installing the intake pipes, since they just press inside of rubber fittings and dont have any way to secure them

would it make the car cut off sitting at a stop light?!?

Well I had a guy come to the shop to check out the car and it is the MAS that's dickinup on me. Can't get another one until friday though. Good news is that it's not gonna cost much.
Looks like i'm gonna have to rebuild the IC piping and move the MAS to a horizontal position. Sweet now I've got to spend even more money.

the piping itself wouldn't cause the mass to go bad. are the filters you've selected oil-maintained like the K&N filters? The oils can foul them very easily; I just used a panel drop in filter for the stock airbox, and it fouled my brand new MAS.

relocating the MAS to a horizontal position does greatly improve the throttle response between 2500-3500 though, where there is that hickup now

PG - do you have any pictures of your MAF relocation? I have seen the one online for the SLK230 but that has a slightly different orientation.

I wish I did. Everything right now is back to stock, and I don't have the ASP pulley kit anymore; so I even put the stock airbox and stock IC/MAF/Intake piping back in.

I'll check my laptop when I fly back to Cali wed. to see if I have some old pics on there from when my car was in pieces over the last winter.

should i rebuild the ic piping to relocate the stock mas mount or can i build a new section in the piping. I have a section of 3" chrome straight piping with misc. sensor mount adapters, could i just use that?

Proven Guilty

i'm very certain you could simply use what you got. the chrome pipe coming off the MAS right now could be attached to the I.C., and the straight end trimmed down a bit with the MAS attatched to that. fill the gaps with silicon tubing, and just unclip the lead to the MAS and zip-tie it to the new location. the air flowing through it is directional, so if you rotate the MAS 90 degrees, you can have the cable connection pointing towards the windshield washer fluid and out of the way.
