Hey Peeps,

Just letting everyone know, I just recently purchased a roof rack for my W202, I priced it out here (toronto) and it was pretty expensive, almost $700 CDN, I found a guy from e-bay selling brand new Thule Roof Racks for under $400 CDN shipped, that includes:

Thule 400XT Aero Foot packs
LB50 Load Bars
Fairing
4 locks
Fits Kit

I recently took up snow boarding and my seats don't fold down and no ski hole either, just letting anyone know if their interested just message me and i'll forward you to him,

Once I get it in I will mount it and take pics for you corious people, I think it'll make the car look pretty cool, I like how roof racks look on German cars especially with front fairing (deflector) on the front, good for all year round activities,

Here are some quick pics I took, will take more when car is clean...Just need to add my snowboard holder and I'm done...

somehow i find the idea of a lowered 202 with big rims don't mix very well with roof rack.
but nonetheless, congrats on a solid purchase.

Not that i plan on trying this (as the road salt is horible for the car and paint) but how do you think our 202's would do in the mountain passes? Do you think a little ice would make them spin out or would they be able stay in control?

that car is going to turn into a snow plow, its too low for snow!

I had a Yakima Rack on my 202 and it worked quite well. Used the Viper Mount for my mountain bike and had another normal tray. I think it made the car look pretty sweet.

I raise me car up in the winter...lol I also have winter tires (Kuhmo) I drive my car in the snow, just get it rust proofed, I don't plan on keeping my car for the rest of my life, so I drive my car to the fullest and enjoy it, that's just me, it's still just a piece of metal with plastic...lol

W202 drives well in the winter with snow's and the tranny in "W" winter mode, havn't had any problems

and the tranny in "W" winter mode

I forgot, but what does the "W"inter mode do and how does it differ from the "S"port mode?

W starts off in 2nd gear. Helps reduce slipping and such when accelerating.

yes it launches in second gear and it also keeps the rpm's low before shifting and before it kicks down. I find with the tranny in Winter mode and a good set of snow tires and a little bit of experiance driving in the snow u can go anywhere with your W202..I had a BMW that didn't have traction control or anything but was rear wheel drive and I had snows and I got around everywhere fine, and now with my w202 with the tranny option it makes it even easier, it just takes some getting use to driving in the snow, and i see some ppl driving with all season tires and they are all over the road, play it safe and get a good set of snows and you will see the differance...my 2 cents...lol
