Hey guys, does this sound right to you?

we often sell the cam tensioner
because yours is AMG the correct part is over $3000

we do have the standard E320 one in stock $952 + gst

How in the hell can it cost so much???????

That does seem just a teeny bit excessive. Ok, maybe a lot.

I'd recheck with them, make sure they looked up the timing chain tensioner. I can't imagine it being that much, but I guess all things are possible.

They're quoting you the wrong part. I can't find the receipt right now, but I had the head gasket and timing chain tensioner done on my '96 C36 for around $1600. The tensioner couldn't have been more than a $100 or maybe $200 part.
