Found one. Thanks, guys! It seems the local BMW doods use The Dyno Shop in Santee not too far away.

The Dyno Shop
10042 Prospect Ave,
Santee, Ca. 92071

Phone (619) 562-3933
Fax (619) 562-2068
Toll free (888) DYNO SHOP

The Dyno Shop (http://www.thedynoshop.com/)

Their standard "Horsepower Test" service is $104 for two pulls. Probably do it sometime next week.

I'm signed up for Dyno Day on December 9th at The Dyno Shop. If anyone else wants to see how their car is doing HP wise, you should come along! It's only $40 for 2 pulls compared to $104 regular price. Got a 2002 Firebird Ram Air and '97 RX-7 Turbo and SC'd eg6 from work coming along to get baselines also. Should be good. 20 spaces left.

haha, would be funny to see how much of a pig my car is right now with the CEL on, and the supercharge been disengaged for almost 4 months now.

i had 198 at the wheels with the asp pulley kit when everything was working perfectly.

I just spread the word to MBWorld's E55 doods, so the spaces will probably be eaten up pretty quick now. Those would be fun to watch.

I've been wanting to get one of these also. A friend of mine has this brand and he uses it to tune his 353rwhp turbo Miata. He said he would never have been able to make that hp if not for this thing. I think they'd be a good investment for in-between-dynojet- testing etc..

hey Len, Ive got hold of a cheapy one over the week end, I'll let you know how it fairs
It claims to be ODB'II/EODB ISO9141/KWP2000, and so Im dubious to how it will do..

fingers crossed though.. it might work out to be highly useable!

and btw our car is not considered fully compliant.

Here is the results for the dyno run from Dyno Day at San Diego.

Normal looking numbers to me besides the torque. Good baseline to go from though.

...and the vid:

Forgot to add that the car is totally stock except for K&N filters with about 800miles on them.

I'm still surprised at yout torque value, but the graphs are what I would expect (compared to ones I have seen).

Time to do some investigating.......

What wheels were you using?

Wierd! On this chart(updated) is shows 242ftlbs. This is where the torque really should be I believe. No idea where that spike came from though.

So how do they come out with the % drivetrain loss? I know typical is around 15%, but is there a way to calculate it using the dyno run data?

I believe it's just a standard estimate that they use for FR cars.
