Trouble Codes

I HAVE A 1999 C230 KOMPRESSOR. I AM GETTING TROUBLE CODES
P1519 AND P1525. THEY BOTH RELATE TO THE CAMSHAFT TIMING
SOLENOID. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA IF THIS IS A COMMON
PROBLEM OR ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO REPAIR.

no promises but it sounds like the magnet for the camshaft is going bad. it wouldn't be the first time i saw it. actually i do get them in from time-to-time on occasion for a rattle complaint from the engine. on the front of your valve cover - take off the panel with the benz star logo. then rev engine at around 2,000rpm and hold there for a few seconds. you should hear a small rattle/knock sound kinda like a diesel. more than the usual sound from the C230's and C220's. then unplug the sensor/connector on the front of the engine behind where the panel is. now rev and hold at around 2,000rpm again. did the sound mostly go away? if so then it's time to spend some $$$$$$$$$$.
