So, two lights in the switch light up but my "ass side" of seat stays cold. Backside is OK.

Do you guys know what could be wrong?

check the cable to the bottom half of the seat. the LEDs of the heated seats are in no way connected to the power cables to the integrated heat circuit.

should be visable if you move the power seat all the way forward, and look underneath from the back seat

Most likely, there is a short in the seat bottom wiring. Or an open. Very common. Just be happy it's not like the ML's and burns a hole in the seat, then in your ass. :)

Proper repair is to get a new seat bottom heating element, remove the seat, then the leather and replaced heating element with new.

Your rear window defroster, those wires that run along the window. Somewhere the wire is broken. Break one point and the whole thing won't work. Electricity must run in a loop... to ground or whatever.

the reason the ML's do this is because if you turn the seat heaters on they are timed and turn off automatically however once they shut-off...if you turn them back on again they stay on and now you have a BIG problem = burnt ass and whole in seat pad like you stated!

That is very true and correct. BUT, they are not wired in series. The seat back, and seat bottom are two independent systems. one shorts out, the other still works. Happens all the time. You put a new element it, and it works again.
